Sylvain Doerler is an artist who uses photography to express his visions and dreams, inspired by the work of Carl Gustav Jung.

In his evocative scenarios of the inner world, he brings into focus the eternal issues of human existence: love, death, loss and the divine, as well as the « shadow ».

His solitary childhood led him to a world of magic, mystery and theatre. He studied history of art, psychology and philosophy. He is also a writer and loves literature, poetry and old books.

Doerler’s work and installations are created in his studio in Paris without any use of digital remastering, but combines photography with painting and applications of different materials, such as glass, ink, dust, flowers, pigment, ashes, varnish and blood…

His work is in different foundations and private collections.
